We had already played two rooms at Escape Arena back in 2021 – Vikings and Galaxy of Secrets. But their latest adventure, Bat’s Shadows, was a completely new experience for me. As the title suggests, this one dives straight into the world of Batman. The Dark Knight has mysteriously disappeared, throwing Gotham into chaos. Our mission: to retrace the villain’s steps through an abandoned sewage plant, outsmart deadly traps, and make choices that could decide the city’s fate.
The dark and moody Gotham atmosphere is captured brilliantly in this room. You don’t have to be a die-hard Batman fan to enjoy it – but if you are, you’ll spot countless clever references to iconic DC characters throughout. The set design is phenomenal, showcasing exceptional attention to detail that makes the experience feel genuinely cinematic. The puzzles are creative, diverse, and logically structured – all perfectly integrated with the theme.
We only stumbled briefly during one particular puzzle, which required replaying several sequences of different difficulty levels to track a group of villains. The English voiceover was a bit tricky to understand at first, but after listening closely a few times, we finally got it right. Aside from that small hiccup, the entire adventure was pure fun from beginning to end.
We tackled Bat’s Shadows as a duo (though it’s designed for two to five players) – and successfully saved Gotham! The room offers more than enough puzzles and action to keep teams of three or four fully engaged as well. Expect a mix of climbing, crawling, and exploration — you won’t be standing still for long.
Bat’s Shadows absolutely blew me away. For me, it’s the best escape room in all of Poland, second only to Abandoned Hotel. Honestly, I’m surprised it didn’t make it to the TERPECA finals this year – perhaps simply because not enough enthusiasts have discovered it yet.
