When you first read the description of Criogenic, you know something wild is coming. The premise? Putting yourself in cryogenic stasis using a low-cost service—what could possibly go wrong? It immediately sets the tone for an experience that’s both quirky and intriguing. This game can be played in Barcelona or Zaragoza but this review is from our experience at Madrid.

The theme is refreshing and quite unique in Spain, which makes it stand out from the many more “classic” escape room plots you might find. Another big plus: the game is fully playable in English, which makes it a great option for international players visiting Madrid.

The puzzles themselves strike a nice balance between fun, logical, and some interactive parts that require you to move around. This makes the game especially entertaining for those who enjoy a mix of mental and physical challenges instead of just sitting still and solving riddles.

As for the set design, there are moments that will feel familiar if you’ve played other escape rooms, but the way the narrative ties everything together gives Criogenic its own unique identity. It’s not just about the look of the room, but how the story pushes you forward!

One piece of advice: wear comfy clothes! This is an action-packed and electrifying experience that will keep you on your toes.
