A year ago I headed across the Atlantic to play games and I had a good idea of what each of the many games were about. I had a theme and a bit of a story. I was prepared.
12 months later and I don’t have any clue what I’m playing, I just turn up. It’s not that I don’t care but I love having no misconceptions. So now, a quick story before we arrive to get us in character and I leave the rest to the game.
We’re a few minutes late (It’s a Heiner trip and Madrid is a busy place) when we turn up to the tailor’s shop to collect a suit. I love these moments, where you wonder what on earth is going on, this all adds to, what is, a solid game.
The game starts straightaway so be prepared. Out host ‘Gon’ was excellent. Keeping the character and game in flow.
The set was fitting with the theme and telling the narrative nicely.
Apart from one moment where a little lack of observation/searching held us back and stalled us, the game flowed nicely.
There was a good mix of puzzles and things to do. Leaning on a couple of multi layer puzzles needing collaboration. But nothing too difficult.
We were able to branch off as a team. Teamwork is key at one moment, so remember to work together. (Tensions can rise if not)
This game resulted in a fitting end and a fun finale.
I would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.
