Long time ago when I started playing rooms in the Netherlands, I visited Naarden for the first time. This small town has a particular shape worth googling it, due to its fortifications and it is the home town of One Hour Lockup. I played one of the two rooms they had back then and I still clearly remember when Expedition Bermuda was announced. The company then invested into VR experiences, Covid came and Expedition Bermuda seemed like one of those projects that are announced, time passes, and you start doubting whether they will ever come true.

The good thing is that when those projects come true (I remember for instance that La Santa took 3 Madrid trips before it was open after the initial announcement) usually end up being very rewarding and worth the wait. This was also the case in my view for Expedition Bermuda.
There are many things I really liked about this room. To start with, I liked that the genre is more of the adventure type. Spain is possibly the number one country for this genre and I am glad to see that someone here in the Netherlands dared to go into that direction.

The set for me was fantastic as the space was nicely used and the discovery of the different spaces is really satisfying. I also enjoyed very much the whole story development, which has also a nice dose of humor, which is always a plus. I appreciated how this story leads to a very satisfying end.

I enjoyed a lot many of the puzzles and the collaboration required for several tasks. If I am extremely picky there was one task/riddle which could have been omitted or changed for something more interesting, but that is maybe more form the perspective of a more experienced player and is only one thing among many other interesting ones.

Currently on position 15 for the Netherlands in escapetalk.nl and 8 in the ranked playlist, the reader might wonder how come this room was not in Terpeca last year. The answer is very simple: it opened in June and missed the English availability due to a very short time. So, do not let its absence from Terpeca misguide you. This room is absolutely worth it and a must for travelers to the Netherlands.

Originally from Uruguay and living in the Netherlands I have played over 850 rooms. Other than my role as Terpeca ambassador for the Benelux since 2023, I also perform hard work as chauffeur, scheduler, reviewer, ranked playlist contributor (forcibly) and translator for Heiner.
