This company is based in a small town in Northern Bavaria – Bad Steben. This seems to be quite a drive but don’t be put off, it’s definitely worth it. With a supermarket and a hotel nearby, you could definitely factor it as a great location for a trip.
If you haven’t booked to play at Dream Labs, you won’t necessarily know what to expect. But, it’s exactly what it says it is.
A place where you can dream…lucidly.
The first time I visited Dream Labs, my dream choice was The Heartless Pirate and I remember from turning up and ringing the doorbell, (where my Dream Lab appointment started) I had a smile from ear to ear. I was mesmerised with the details, along with wondering what on earth I was actually doing there? Dreaming/escape room?
Who knows but I was all in.
The transition to dreaming and then to your dream is executed brilliantly and even on my third dream, it doesn’t get old.
Metropolis 2099:
What this company does, is stunning. Nothing is missed, the extra effort is obvious and appears effortless. Details are paramount and they don’t go unnoticed. On entering this room, it was a small space and being first in, I had to make way for the team, I promised myself I would go back to take in more of the detail, unfortunately due to the incredible speed of my team, I didn’t get the chance.
This game for me felt like I was definitely along for the ride, I was mesmerised by the simple but cool effects. Plus more extravagant and impressive effects. Against an immense set.
I will 100% return to play this game, if only to take it some more of my surroundings. Dream Labs seem to create spaces that it’s a need, more than a want, to have to replay.
I remember being in the middle part of this game and thinking, why? how? Props that play no part in the game but are brilliant all the same.
All the incredible details that are just there, to immerse you and immersed you are.
Myself and another team mate talked about a particularly material used to build something and incredibly we were so far wrong from what they’d used, it was insane.
I found myself feeling like I was in Dream Labs own version of Blade Runner.
This adventure is set in a dystopian cyberpunk world.
The game is definitely not over crowded with puzzles, but all puzzles were varied and were seamlessly tied in with the theme and the story. Nothing too complex. It felt quite linear and I wouldn’t have wanted to play as a bigger team.
Transitions are fitting and effective. Amazing effects with the story playing out in front of you, with you and your team at the heart of it.
This game is story driven and you need to play along, with this said, are you going to save metropolis from a dark fate??
