When Anigma wanted to open in Malmo, they looked amongst their peers and asked themselves how they could be different. Their plan was to set one story which you play out across multiple chapters. We played all 4 they currently have open, the fifth and final is coming soon – the stand-out game for me was Redemption Robbery.
After <no spoilers here so, errm, stuff> you then set about the second chapter in the tale to retrieve The Maxim Ring, the crown jewel of the Maxim family treasure, which is kept in the Anigma Museum of Fine Arts.
The significant feature of this game is their method of signposting, a unique method I have rarely seen before. This helped piece together which items were related to what puzzle/lock and was a very clever way to reduce ambiguity in the game.
All of Anigma’s games feature some clever mechanics and a wide style of puzzles. This variety is evident in all chapters of their games and will give enthusiasts plenty of brain teasers to test, combining unique physical and mental puzzles in a well-themed space. The mechanics in this game were really well executed and provided some of the most memorable moments of our Malmo missions.
