When we arrived at Gothenburg Escape Games, our expectations were modest. The lobby felt plain, the welcome from two student gamemasters was standard, and nothing suggested that we were about to experience something special. But as soon as the door closed behind us, we were transported into a completely different world.

Temple in the Jungle begins, as the name suggests, in the jungle, but step by step you journey deeper into the temple and the mine. The story isn’t heavy-handed, but the progression feels natural and engaging—an adventurous journey that steadily builds momentum as you move further into the unknown.

What impressed us most was the set design: although the space is quite limited, it is used with remarkable creativity. Every detail of the decoration felt purposeful, from the lush jungle touches to the ancient temple interiors, and the dim lighting tied it all together, creating an atmosphere that felt both authentic and mysterious.

There are no actors in this room, and the hint system is fully automated. Normally I find this approach frustrating, but in this game it worked surprisingly well and never interfered with the flow. The real challenge lies in the puzzles: they are tough, sometimes deceptively so, but once the logic clicks, solving them is highly satisfying. Several of the puzzles were original and inventive, with mechanisms we hadn’t seen before, and the integration into the theme worked seamlessly.

This is not an easy room, but it is a rewarding one. In the end, Temple in the Jungle turned out to be a compact yet beautifully designed adventure, full of atmosphere and challenging puzzles that demand real teamwork. If you’re in Gothenburg and looking for a memorable escape experience, this is a room worth playing—just be ready to fight for your escape.
