A charming room, through and through! This is not the type of game that will overwhelm you with spectacle or massive effects, but it is an experience that wins you over with polish, charm, and a very enjoyable flow.

I would categorize this game as a classic adventure with light theatrical elements. The game does contain an actor at the very beginning, which adds tension and sets the tone, but this is not a scare game. It is approachable for most players and would be a fine choice even for those who are usually cautious around horror-leaning experiences.

The game begins immediately with immersion, something I personally value highly. The early sequence is on the simpler side, but it sets the stage well. The puzzle flow is solid throughout and kept our group of four engaged for the full duration. I would not recommend playing with fewer than three, but with three or four players the balance is excellent. We used nearly the full time to escape, which kept the tension alive right to the end.

The set design is very good. It is not one that I would label as breathtaking or cinematic, but it is carefully crafted, well maintained, and free of wear and tear, which speaks to excellent upkeep. The fact that it is set in an “ordinary” space – a hotel – gave it an additional charm for me. I have a soft spot for these everyday environments, and this one captured the right atmosphere.

What sets this game apart is that it does not just move you from puzzle to puzzle – at one point, you must make a decision that actually shifts the narrative of the game. This was a refreshing and memorable touch that elevated the experience beyond a standard escape room.

While this game does not aim to redefine the medium, it succeeds in offering a memorable and well-rounded escape room experience. The combination of immediate immersion, enjoyable puzzles, quality upkeep, and unique narrative choices makes The Grand Immersia Hotel a strong recommendation for players who appreciate classic adventure rooms.
