Mercury Escape in Rome is a new provider that only opened its first escape room this spring, titled „The Prophecy“. Fitting the theme, we visited this remote location late in the evening, as the last scheduled escape room of the day, in a suburb of Rome. From the outside, everything seemed fine, but inside the building we found ourselves in an old cabin. The fortune teller welcomed us more or less warmly in her living room. How could it have been otherwise? Of course, she read our cards. And as one might expect, the future didn’t look too bright for some players. But cards only reveal a possible future. Skilled escapers can take their fate into their own hands – and that’s exactly what we did.

We thoroughly searched the mysterious house in the woods and came across some strange inconsistencies. It was often mysterious and spooky, especially since the fortune teller kept appearing unexpectedly, offering us the occasional hints.

The Prophecy is an incredibly detailed escape room. You really feel as if you are inside a mysterious, abandoned cabin. The absolute highlight was the actress, who played a major, crucial role in the game and provided the perfect atmosphere and tension throughout. A truly masterful performance.

The puzzles were creative and exciting, logically structured, and perfectly matched to the story’s setting. The Prophecy is definitely an escape room you shouldn’t miss when in Rome.
