The sanatorium is no longer used. That’s a great reason to check out what lurks inside of it. It’s not a new room but it’s impressive how great it remains.
Puzzles
Because of how scared we were in that room, all the puzzles seemed incredibly difficult and almost impossible. Over time, I came to understand that irrational fear had overtaken our common sense. In reality, everything made sense, and they might have been a bit old, but they were logical.
Story
As it later turned out, the story of the Sanatorium is intimately connected to each room at Lockhill. They form a single, unified whole, and that’s why I love this company. We go there to find a certain item. A very, very important and significant one. Along the way, we encounter various creatures whose appearance and behavior alone are breathtaking.
Acting
To this day, I can still picture the appearance of these characters. Their interactions, the way they moved, how perfectly they played their roles – all of this will stay with me forever. The Sanatorium remains the most terrifying experience I’ve ever had. There was one instance where I was cornered by a certain character, with no way out. I thought I’d stop the game, I was terrified. Gradually, we acclimated to the conditions and the acting, but we never fully stopped being afraid.
Decor
We found ourselves in an old hospital, everything shrouded in fog, like something out of Silent Hill. Our hands disappeared from view as soon as we moved them slightly forward. Everything around us took on an infinitely greater realism. The music and ambient sounds burned into our brains (and probably stayed there, because my sister and I still listen to the Silent Hill soundtrack to this day). In one of the rooms, we encountered a very interesting obstacle that was slowing our movement. The interesting thing about all this is that after leaving the room, we weren’t entirely convinced of its brilliance. Only with time did we appreciate it more and more.
