The Boat House

This is a review of the Escape Room “The Boat House” offered by The Alley in Malmo, Sweden.

The demolition team arrives in an hour to dismantle the boat, but the old captain does not have the strength to retrieve his collection of knots in time, help save as many as possible before it’s too late!

Is this game a standard escape room? Frayed knot – it’s a collection game.

The game is wonderfully set in an old boat; you’re on deck with buoys, ropes, wooden boxes, and other nautical nicknacks. This is the setting of a box-frenzy where you have a full hour to open as many items (mainly differently thought out cryptic and dexterous boxes and panels).

You discover ways to open things you will never have seen before, combining hidden codes, instructions, observations, mechanical puzzles, subterfuge – a full hour of puzzling madness! But, as this is a collection style, especially if you are a group of 5 or below – it will be very unlikely for you to solve / find everything.

The other two games at The Alley are much more standard escape rooms, and are very good value so if you have a chance to fit these in too – I would recommend.

However, if on a trip to Copenhagen or Malmo, get on board this intense hour and set a course for it to be in your itinerary.
