If you will ask me what I have done during lockdown, I’d mostly say “watch Netflix”, “bake some bread”, and “play games on the Switch”. If you will ask the owner of Ice Tiki the same question, he’d respond with “got bored, tried to find something to do, decided to create a freakin awesome escape room”. I mean, he won’t add the “freakin awesome” part, probably, but I definitely will.
Ice Tiki is easily one of the most unique games I’ve ever played. What starts as a quite a normal room, very quickly escalates into a fun, hilarious, and crazy experience.
While many escape rooms pride themselves of having a unique element/concept, Ice Tiki managed to take a concept which is quite rare in escape rooms, and go absolutely nuts with it, creating an extremely fun room, that I can’t remember a room in which I laughed as much as I have in it.
The puzzles go on a scale from good to great to wacky, and the way the gamemaster communicates with the group is perfectly fitting to the vibe of the room, pushing us forward in an amusing and unique way.
Altogether, this room contained some of the most fun and memorable moments of the trip, and I can’t help but hope that the creator will find himself bored again (not because of a crazy global pandemic this time, I hope), and create another room.
