Immortal

This is a review of the Escape Room “Immortal” offered by Escaped in Athens, Greece.

It was a pleasure for me to visit once again Escaped, which brought me back many fond memories of my first Athens experience, although I was really sorry to hear that several of their games had closed.

One of the things I liked about Escaped is that they offer quite a variety of games, some with actors and some without, some more on the horror side, while others were more riddle based. Immortal like Other Side is a riddle-based game without actors, and therefore a mandatory stop for those visitors in Athens that are not into horror.

It is a game conceived for smaller groups (2-4) which makes it also ideal for instance for couples and has the typical Greek extra length (80 minutes). Immortal is a beautiful riddle room, with a convincing atmospheric decoration. The focus is obviously on the puzzles, which had some that were more classic and other more original, including some great elements.

The room makes use of a mechanism in order to structure the tasks, which I am aware some people like and other are not so fond of. In my view, this is done here in a very elegant manner, that overcomes the main critical point of this particular way of tackling puzzles in an escape room.
Overall, the room makes a wonderful use of the space has entertaining and fun riddles and is rounded up by a pleasant and interesting background story.
I am eagerly looking forward to playing their new games, which are already announced in their webpage: “Paranoic III: The Maze Hunters” and “The Phantom of the Opera”.
