We are private investigators who search for the missing Marta on behalf of her family. Someone believes to have seen Marta near an abandoned clinic in central Athens. This is where we begin our search for clues…

Mastermind, one of the few providers in Athens, which is already open at lunchtime on weekends, has two locations in Athens. One with 3 escape games (Sin City, Thomas Crown, Follow the white Rabbit) right in the center of the city, and one in the Agia Varbara district, with the relatively new two-hour agent game Blackwater.

Sin City, as I see it, has nothing in common with the blockbuster movie of the same name. Rather, it is about a search for a missing person. The entry into the case should be emphasized, because the place Karori 6A, where Marta was presumably seen for the last time, actually exists. Our investigations started outdoors in the surroundings of this address, which may seem dubious to one or the other resident in the neighborhood, or even passers-by, when they see us snooping around there. Fortunately there were no real cops or security stuff in the vicinity.

Apart from the unusual beginning, Sin City is more of a standard first-gen escape game. Nothing unusual concerning decoration or the easy to medium puzzles. For a task it’s an advantage if you know the place. Here we were offered support by the attentive gamemaster, which we ultimately didn’t make use of. Nevertheless we could solve the case in 40 minutes.

The game is good for 2 people, with more than three players it‘s getting tight.
