The Last Adventure of Indiana Jones
The Escape Arena is located a little outside the center of Bucharest, but can be easily reached by car or taxi (travel time approx. 15 minutes). The Last Adventure of Indiana Jones is currently the only adventure in the Escape Arena, but another one – The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – is being worked on. The entrance is not easy to find. You enter the location via a bar, the Snatch Pub.
The Indiana Jones is extra long (playing time 75 minutes) and has a difficulty rating of difficult (9/10). Admittedly, there were 1-2 tricky puzzles that you can cling to for a long time, but apart from that I would classify the room as more moderately difficult. The three of us completed the mission in 45 minutes. Up to 8 players can theoretically take part in the adventure. For reasons of space, in my opinion you shouldn’t exceed 3-4 people.
The story is the classic. Indiana Jones disappeared in search of the Holy Grail. We, as his students, are concerned and follow his footsteps to an ancient temple where he was last sighted. Inside the temple, of course, there are a multitude of challenges and insidious traps waiting to be avoided.
The game is linear with the exception of the initial phase. There are few search elements. Good observation is helpful because there are some elements or details whose meaning and purpose only becomes apparent as the game progresses. The game is suitably accompanied by light and sound effects. The setting with its carefully designed backdrops is appealing, especially in the first part of the adventure, and does not seem cheesy or artificial. The puzzles are versatile and require communication skills, precision and dexterity, among other things. It’s a modern space. There is a lot of technology (which has been cleverly hidden behind the scenes) that contributes to the automation of processes and a successful atmosphere.
