King Arthur has long wielded the Blade of Excalibur to protect Camelot. Now the king has grown old and tired and is looking for a worthy successor for his mighty sword. To find one, the wizard Merlin has magically driven the Excalibur back into the stone, where only the true future ruler of Camelot can pull it out. We rise to the challenge that many knights and nobles have failed to meet.
After “Gold Rush” already our second visit to the Californian Escape Room provider MindTrap. Again, we are hosted by Nathan, who is also the owner. After a warm welcome and the briefing our venture starts. The game is played via Zoom. There is also an inventory, which fortunately is not overloaded.
The adventure starts in a kind of garden house and takes place almost exclusively in the multi-room playground, which we appreciate very much by now. From the very first moment Nathan slips into the role of our henchman, the very emotional Sir Criesalot, which he consequently keeps until the end. The interactions and dialogues with Sir Criesalot are very entertaining and funny.
Setting and puzzles are appealing and stringently fitting to the theme of Excalibur. There are few padlocks! Most things are triggered by props or some mechanism. We pass through different rooms and must solve many varied tasks until we finally stand in front of the legendary sword and pull it out of the stone with united forces.
Great knight adventure! It was a lot of fun!
