Madrid is not comparable to Barcelona in terms of the quantity and scare level of its horror escape games. We had a little trouble finding something suitable for us. The Forest which can be a horror Escape Room experience or Horror Escape with actors is an exception.

This game can be played in two modes:

? NIGHT MODE: Dare to discover the mysteries of the Forest. Beware of its inhabitants. You don’t know what they are capable of. The Nightmare mode is the terror option, with actors who can enter the room and can touch you on occasion.

??‍♀️ FAIRY TALE MODE: In Fairy Tale mode the inhabitants of the Forest are locked up. There are no scares or actors. The room is more of mystery / adventure. It is recommended for sensitive people or people who are not going to enjoy interacting with actors and want to focus on solving puzzles.

We have chosen the night mode. No question.

The introduction is intense, well done and the atmosphere in the forest is really scary. Who’s afraid of the big bad ? wolf? The forest animals have a keen sense of this and have quickly decided on their victim. Höfli (spanish Rufie) was the chosen one ?! The 80 minutes in the forest were really a hard test for him and a few times I thought he would break off the game. Jungle test, my ass! But the foresters also had a good sense not to overstretch the bow and we protected him as good as possible so that he bravely made it through to the end. Nevertheless, I think that he has meanwhile banned all fairy tale books like Little Red Riding Hood or the Three Little Pigs from his own library ???.

The forest is very spacious, has a good decoration, as well as a wide range of interesting puzzles with a good flow, so I can imagine that it’s also fun to play in fairy tale mode. But then I personally would somehow miss the cherry on the cake, because I really like the acting interludes, which (at least for me) alternately provided fun and adrenalin, especially in the dramatic finale.

I really enjoyed the forest atmosphere combined with the good acting. It’s an obligatory room in Madrid for people who like horror rooms.

Recommend team size: 3-4 players.
