The wretched Degabrieles have stolen a precious treasure from the Malta National Museum. Naturally, we were called us to get it back. All we need to do is enter this old castle and grab them.

Climb stairs and ladders, and open trap doors in The Forbidden Castle. Solid construction with a good use of space brings this adventure to life. The twists and turns also expose further parts of the room through environmental obstacles. It creates a delightful sense of anticipation. With a good pacing of puzzles and exploration, the designers have given us what we want in a good castle adventure.

We ventured into the castle as a duo, getting through all the puzzles with time to spare — though one particular dexterity puzzle posed a challenge. It was a good mix of challenges, even throwing in a comfy environmental obstacle. The thematic puzzles were a part of the environment and mostly a good fit. I felt as though I was cracking open the castle’s secrets.

Our friendly host at Can You Escape Malta? made our trip extra special. We had an all-round pleasant experience. With a solid construction, good design, and some novel aspects, The Forbidden Castle is a recommendable and enjoyable escape room.
