One word – a spectacle. This word in escape rooms world is usually associated with horror games and great acting, which are not properties of this game – yet, for me it deserves to be called one like no other game I’ve ever played.

I would categorize this game as a tense adventure game. It is definitely not a game whose main objective is to scare players and it does not contain actors meaning to scare you, which is where many faint-hearted players draw a line. Though it contains elements that could startle players, so personal discretion is advisable, but missing out on this unforgettable experience would be a huge mistake! What is more – the low scarefactor allows this game to not give up on gameplay and still feature high quality and engaging puzzles, which is where many similarly themed games are not shining at.

It’s hard to pinpoint a single particular strong point of the game as it is just filled with so many of them. Everything from the intro scene and the beginning part, throughout the main part and up to the ending part, is spectacular and polished. It starts off high and does not slow down. But if I had to pick a favorite part, it would probably be the ending!

The production quality of this game is out of the roof. Tons of money were poured here and it can be easily seen that they were used very well too. The set design is magnificent! But it is not just your ordinary high quality set – it lives as well! Multiple memorable special effects maintain the tension and action throughout the game and were the main motivation for me to write the first paragraph of this review.

As already mentioned, puzzles here definitely do not take a back seat – there are many original, well themed and fun to solve puzzles that are making a good use of our environment. This game is not just a spectacle on an impressive set – the gameplay is top notch too!

Another point that requires mentioning is a very original and fun debriefing. But no details about it here!

If either Forgotten Cathedral or Wardrobe For Sale don’t make it to TERPECA TOP10, I am starting a riot! For me, with these two and its other very strong games (The Lost Island of the Voodoo Queen, Rain Corp., and The Final Stop v2) – Escaparium Laval is the strongest venue in the world and it’s not even close! It’s hard to comprehend how much quality rests under this one roof and I know for one that it is not gonna stop here!
