Does she weep?…well you hear her before she comes.
I wasn’t looking forward to this game. I ‘didn’t’ play scary games before this trip but I’ve taken on a few now and I’m definitely coming round to the idea.
When I turned up, I asked our GM, I believe it was Ben, if the witch would go easy on me. He said he’d ask her, when he came back, he said, he couldn’t find her, which was a bad sign and she’s probably in a particularly bad mood.
I found this hilarious and terrifying in equal measures.
As with all the games here, the briefing was spot on. Our GM was the same for all 3 games and he was fun, engaging and created a different vibe for each game. Definitely helped make us all feel nervous before going in.
He was a brilliant host.
This game isn’t in the biggest space but it’s a beautiful space. It’s everything it’s supposed to be. Plenty big enough for a witch to join you
Production design of the room is incredible. It looks and feels like a room littered with cursed objects that, at first glance, feel like part of the décor. Of course, as the game goes on, you realize that everything has its place and meaning. There are some stunning moments in this game which are unexpected and equally joyful.
There’s lots of unique and intuitive puzzles. This room makes a wonderful use of technology, all fitting with the theme and storytelling.
This room wasn’t easy and I’m not sure I brought much to the table, (I managed hiding pretty well) the flow was lovely and you knew how you were progressing throughout the game.
Now let’s talk about hint systems.
This game was played near the end of a mammoth trip and I have to say, I think this was my favourite clue system. Absolutely genius, fitting and oh, so much fun. Definitely was nice to have a few good laughs thrown in.
Fantastic sound effects and design really helped enhance the game, the constantly changing lighting was also beautifully timed, all the while, building the suspense and story of the game. The theatrics, moving props, colour and light, plus the Weeping Witch all tie together to create an incredible experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game and would recommend to anyone.
I definitely didn’t find it as terrifying as I thought it would be.
